The German made EMB Series waste oil burner provides a broad range of power outputs. EMB power ratings are 20kW, 50kW, 70kW, 100kW, 150kW and 200kW.
The operation sequence pumps fuel out of the special Kroll day tank and into the burner tank. A float switch controls the level inside the burner tank and supplies power to an oil pump on the day tank. Another float switch (overflow protection) serves as a limiter, which switches to fault if the tank overfills.
A thermostat sets the oil temperature in the burner tank and starts the burner when it reaches the set point temperature.
Also, the automatic burner control system monitors the operation of the burner and provides diagnostics to the user. A special nozzle aspirates and finely atomises the fuel using the compressed air flowing into the nozzle[s]. Therefore, the compressed air serves as primary air for the combustion process.
The burner blower supplies the secondary air, which mixes with the atomised spray at the baffle plate. This ensures full combustion and operational reliability.
Also, at an oil temperature in excess of 150° C, the safety switch automatically de-energises the burner. The Siemens controller displays diagnostics. These burners mount to air furnaces like the Kroll SZ series or heat water in a hydronic boiler [water heater]. Flow rates, pressure drops, tubing length, location of manifolds all supplied by Kroll’s Hydronic CAD Design team. This is a no cost turnkey service. Over twenty years of practice helps Installers and Builders & Owners to cooperate and complete projects. It’s all part of the in-house Kroll Hydronic design process. Kroll uses LoopCAD by Avenir and CSIRO Heat Load calculation software. Kroll produces detailed piping schematics produced using TACO Flopro Designer and TACO HVAC System Solution software as well as electrical schematics, along with the bill of materials, or BOM, at no cost to the client. The BOM in excel format is very handy for budget calculation as it itemises every component. Material, labour and equipment costs can be inserted. It’s part of the hydronic CAD design process. Kroll is a 20 year member of AIRAH, the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning & Heating.
Kroll offers a free tailored room by room heat-loss [or heat load] calculation, sizing, CSIRO heat load software and Avenir’s LoopCAD and Taco FloPro system layouts specifying full colour pipe dimensions and power ratings required to achieve a comfortable heat level on the coldest days of the year. Slab heating and/or panel radiators can be implemented. Itemised Bill of Material (BOM) is standard, see Material List example below. The BOM is in Excel or .xls format for simple budget calculation. The hydronic design specifies equipment for the installing plumber and electrician, even down to hydraulic flow rates in LPM or litres per minute, the water velocities in the circuits, delta T across the loads as well as head loss or pressure drops across all components. Note that Kroll is a 20 year user of TACO design software, using TACO HVAC Solution as well as TACO FloPro Designer.

Heat Source
Kroll offers hydronic heat sources powered by wood, wood pellets and waste oil or dieseline in power ratings from 20kW up to 250kW
Heating Zones
Kroll can design one or more heat zones independently controlled by the zone’s own WIFI Smart thermostats
The Caria series pellet boilers are controlled by an Ecomax24, this controller tracks and monitors the operations of the boiler. The controller also uploads these metrics to the econet24 website and application where you are able track past activity, see current operation of the boiler system, set burn schedules and many other settings A Caria series 23kW pellet boiler has now been installed and secondly commissioned at Maldon in country Victoria. Heating calculations indicate 23kW is required. A 300 litre Buffer Tank is being installed, charged by an LK810 charging valve by LK Armatur the Swedish hydronic specialist and long time partner to Kroll Heaters. https://www.lkarmatur.com/en/ Circulation to the radiators is with the latest DAB EVOPLUS LITE 120/180 25. https://kroll-heaters.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/50240034_EVOPLUS-LITE_CL_ENG_DOC_web_Copy_2-scaled.jpg
Commissioning Complete August 2026
Although there were some minor leaks, the team installed the Caria CP23 without major hassles. Subsequently the technician programmed the buffer tank to fill the 300l thermal storage tank top to bottom with hot water at 82’C accordingly following the Caria user guide. Accordingly the owner will start the boiler remotely using the Econet24 smartphone application. The owner’s house thermostat will enable the DAB pump to send water to the house radiator network. Additionally, the owner reports that afterwords the home heated up quickly once they heated the tank as a result of the commissioning. In conclusion the owner now has a warm home able to be remotely warmed prior to visiting.
Kroll promotes heating solutions using free waste. If you have access to free wood or free waste oil this is by far the cheapest and most energy-efficient way to heat a house in Australia.
Solutions
The Ventum or VG Series gasifies wood logs for efficient heat.
The Caria Series utilizes wood pellet boilers see below.

EMB Waste Oil Burners
The German made EMB burners coupled to the ACK2 Water Heater provides heat from waste oil.
Kroll uses LoopCAD for slab heating design, see below for piping layout showing connection to manifolds. Kroll also supplies recommended flow rate for each circuit as well as a comprehensive heat loss calculation based on your space’s construction
Heating with waste oil or used oils can be an extremely smart choice for space heating and/or floor heating in domestic and commercial applications. If your farm or workplace produces used oil why not get your heat for minimal cost. The waste oil can be used to heat up water or hydronic applications, or air heating using the SZ furnace or the Kroll Kozy.
Your Waste Oil Heaters and Heating Solution
Waste oil heating and waste oil burning is Kroll core business.
This means the precision burning of waste oils, used or unused automotive or vegetable oils for domestic or commercial heating. Space heating with waste oil heaters and hydronic heating from recycled waste & used oils is what we do for you. Commercial heating, home heating and hydronic design services are available. Recently wood gasification hydronic boilers have been available as well. So, waste oil and waste wood!
Kroll can provide the hydronic solution for your floor heating or hydronic radiator heating or a combination of the two.
Kroll fan coil units convert hot water into warm air similar to a how car radiator uses a fan to coil the engine water. We use the German made EMB burners to burn the oil. These are available in 20 kW power output up to 250 kW if required.
