The Caria series pellet boilers are controlled by an Ecomax24 this controller tracks and monitors the operations of the boiler. The controller also uploads these metrics to the econet24 website and application where you are able track past activity, see current operation of the boiler system, set burn schedules and many other settings
A Caria CP40 40kW fully automatic hydronic wood pellet boiler has been installed in country Victoria. After initial firmware updates to sort out a pellet feed issue, the CP40 Pellet Boiler is functioning correctly.
The CP40 is charging 2000l of water storage to 77C. A great feature of the CP40 operating system is the ability to tweak parameters remotely, an essential thing for a complex machine in a remote location.
Every parameter is configurable remotely. This is very usefull to speed things up or down, vary boiler max temperature, vary maximum power, adjust upper and lower buffer parameters. The operation mode [running, ignition, supervision and halt phases are displayed]. The boiler power, flame size, pellet feed rate, flue gas temperature and boiler temperature are displayed in real time. The alarm register is there to be examined 24 by 7.
Normal hydronic safety valves are to be fitted as well as suitable expansion capability to the wood gasification hydronic boiler. Therefore a wood log safety flush valve, a 3 BAR pressure relief valve [PRV] and a quality air dirt remover.
Routine cleaning should be continued
You must brush out your KK Series wood gasification boiler. Do this AFTER moving the heat exchanger handle back & forth a few times. Dust in the galleries will drop into the lower chamber. Brush & vacuum the two chambers.
Check the quality of the wood
Hardwood serves as the best fuel for your wood gasification hydronic boiler such as ash, oak, beech, and maple. Moisture content 12% to 20%, measured with a moisture probe. STIHL outlets and Bunnings sell these. https://www.bunnings.com.au/crommelin-moisture-meter_p0911078
Servicing of your boiler
Servicing your wood gasification hydronic boilerboiler annually will ensure it keeps running optimally for as long as possible. Read the user guide for details, if unsure ring Kroll on 1800 805 243. As a rule, it is good to service your boiler in September or October so that it is ready for heavy use during autumn and winter.
Creosote Treatment
Luv Ya!
Try burning some SootLoose to reduce cresote buildup. Once a month.
Periodic Servicing
Cleaning period of your wood gasification hydronic boiler depends on plant features, fuel and combustion parameters so after first commissioning please clean the boiler heat exchange surfaces once a month, if they need any cleaning. After a few cycles you can decide the period of cleaning you will need.
Do not add any additional fuel and wait up to all the fuel finishes burning. See https://kroll-heaters.com.au/user-guides-information/kk-series-operations-maintenance/
Wait for cooling the boiler (min 2-3 hour)
Stop the circulation pump
Disconnect the main power supply then dismantle the back side flue gas top door [see 4.11 Pg 26] and clean all
the flue pipes. Dismantle the bottom back door [see 7.1 Pg 29] and clean
the flue box.
Check the flue between boiler and chimney, clean if necessary. Control
the chimney.
Then put back all the dismantled part in its proper place in reverse order.
Kroll has the KK Series wood gasification water heaters now back now in stock.
VG Wood Gasification heaters known as the KK boiler system, is total system with hot water boiler, control regulator unit, air remover, pressure relief and thermal storage charging capability.
Features
VG boilers efficiently heat water for hydronic applications using wood gasification.
The design of the wood gasification boiler results in efficient combustion with wood fuels, especially dry logs.
The design incorporates high combustion chamber loading for clean combustion, resulting in low nitrogen oxide emissions.
The quality of the material, form, and dimensioning of the components ensures that the boiler operates safely and has a long economic life.
Primary and secondary combustion air supply are controlled separately.
The Plum regulator stabilizes a given water set point temperature for the VG boilers’ cycle and stabilizes a given temperature of the hot utility water tank. Accordingly, the system controls the combustion fan and circulators by monitoring the flue gas and water temperatures.
VG boilers have been designed to heat hot water and charge a thermal storage tank; therefore, look at the image top RHS. The boilers achieve a maximum outlet temperature of 90 °C and a maximum allowable operation pressure of 3 bar gauge. Return water temperatures must not be lower than 60°C. These boilers suit high-quality wood (log) with water content between 15% to 20%. Minimize log breadth to 120mm for better air distribution. This boiler suits open vented expansion vessel heating systems. The system must have a matching expansion system. The installation should ensure that the open vented expansion vessel and pipes are protected against frost and that no manual valves exist between the boiler and expansion tank. Arikazan manufactures the VG Wood Gasification boilers in Turkey.
The Caria CP23 23kW fully automatic hydronic wood pellet boiler is being installed and demonstrated at Kroll Dandenong
The boilers have been designed to heat hot water and must be connected to a heating plant and/or a domestic hot water plant within the limits of its performance and output.
The boilers have a maximum outlet temperature of 90°C (set point is max. 80°C) and a maximum allowable operation pressure of 3 bar gauge. Return water temperatures must not be lower than 55°C.
The boilers are not suitable for use as a direct water heater. Where potable or sanitary hot water is required, a matching indirect heat exchanger must be provided in the system.
The boiler is suitable for use in an open vented or closed expansion vessel heating systems. The system must have a matching expansion system. Make sure that the open vented expansion vessel and pipes are protected against frost.
Video
Second pass heat transfer combustion gas pipes have turbulator to maximize heat transfer to water and to clean the pipe inner surfaces. Please do not remove any of the turbulators, since this will cause loss of efficiency and damage to the boiler. The installation of an automatic low temperature control valve is a requirement to prevent condensation within the boiler. The warranty is void if this is not fitted and operated at 55°C. We recommend the LK Armatur LK810. See youtube.com/watch
The user and basic operational controls allows the time and temperature settings of the boiler and plant controlled from the boiler to be appropriately set by the client for the intended use of the building.
The designer is responsible for the auxiliary plant and equipment, and its design and selection while ensuring correct selection of boiler plant.
